Our young people have access to our farm where they can spend time with our animals, they can pet, and groom them, or even help with stable Jobs, if able and permission is granted young people may even get the opportunity to ride the horses.
Our therapist is able to come to the farm to incorporate animal assisted therapy into the the therapeutic element of the placement. and groom, and with permission even Ride Some of our ponies, Or maybe even just take them for a little walk.
Our Ponies are Bruce, Bertie and Vinny - they are all very friendly and love to have treats and scratches!
Our Cheeky Goats are Ben and Jerry! they love to escape their pen! and often find their way indoors where they like to jump on the sofa! Ben and Jerry are really friendly and love to be stroked and fed branches from trees!
Our Ducks and Chickens are - Drumstick, Nugget, Hey Hey, Dixie, Womble, Luna and Ginny.
We also have assistance dog Dolly, a Cavapoochon and she likes belly scratches, and she also likes to pinch socks and hide them!
Dolly loves to play games and is available to support our young people in the home and out, due to her training she is able to support our young people in public spaces such as shops and on activities, or may even come to support young people during important meetings or events. Some of our trained staff members who are handlers of Dolly, may also use them to support in a Direct work / key working session with the young person.
All of our Key working sessions are planned with the young person in mind, it is made to be fun and engaging for each individual so we may adapt our games to suite different needs or age ranges.
